BlackFlash Magazine is pleased to announce the commission of The Cedar Tavern Singers’ artist project How to Talk about Art. The limited edition artist card accompanies the feature article Art History: the Musical: The Story of The Cedar Tavern Singers by Jennifer Crane, which appears in our Summer issue vol 28 issue 3 (on newsstands June 28).
The artist project card features the previously unreleased song How to Talk About Art available by free download to the cardholder. 2500 cards were printed and will be sent to BlackFlash subscribers as well as select Artist-Run Centres, Art Galleries and Art Organizations across Canada to be distributed to their members and the general public. The song How to Talk About Art acts as a how-to guide for talking about art. It provides a humourous resource of terms and phrases for the self-conscious art viewer. The limited edition card is the first artist project of its kind among art magazines in Canada.
